Netflix’s upcoming Wednesday Addams series won’t premiere until after Spooky Season is officially over. But having now seen the full-length Wednesday trailer, I’m thinking of petitioning the government to officially extend Halloween until the series drops on November 23. Who can arrange?
The show is set at magical boarding school Nevermore Academy, a format for which I am famously a sucker. It looks like even amongst other supernatural teens, Wednesday Addams stands out for her peculiar creepy and kookiness. If she comes into contact with color, then she breaks out into hives and the flesh peels off her bones, for instance. “Wednesday has been done so perfectly. Like there’s nothing that you could do to make it – it can’t get any better,” Ortega told Empire in an interview. “There’s that pressure. I knew that I could not be ripping anybody off. She’s a deadpan character. She’s sarcastic and she’s tough. I think there are several different paths that I or anyone could have taken to this part.”
